We often reflect on our own favourite products and why they stand out to us. Our team shared their winter essentials and the attributes that consistently appeared were warmth, hydration and sustainability. Here’s a look at what products we reach for that help us feel cosy and nourished this time of year…

Deb

Our Biofuel fire uses Bioethanol sourced from cellulose rich plants, agricultural waste and forestry residue. The fire is therefore portable within the house and instantly hot. 5 humans and 2 dogs in our house love it!

I really like having a candle burning whilst I work during the winter months, it creates a warmer, calming environment! I also adjust my skincare routine and add a few drops of ESPA optimal skin pro-serum mixed with my EVE LOM daily moisturiser to keep my skin nourished when getting dry in the colder months.

I reach for my ‘DrySoon’ heated airer from Lakeland – it’s the most useful thing in our house! It makes such a difference and I couldn’t recommend it enough. I also have this Haocoo electric mat under my keyboard. It keeps my hands warm on cold days when I don’t want to turn the heating on!

Re-Nourish have really tasty soups and I love the paired back design and easy to use pack. Warming and delicious! I also swear by ColourWow Dream Coat Supernatural Spray. For me, frizzy hair is always a problem on a damp winter’s day and this really helps. I also like their simple demo where they show the hair repelling water.

I must also mention Jo Malone’s Elderflower and Gooseberry candle which may not feel like a winter product, but burning it on a cold January day brought some summer vibes into the room. It smells gorgeous and I love the way the candlelight glows through the beautiful glass jar with the botanical pattern.

As it gets colder, I reach for festive-spiced candles that feel warm and cosy and I love to drink Masala chai tea with a bit of honey. It’s so soothing and delicious. One of my favourite beauty products (all year round but particularly in winter) is the Clarins Honey 01 Lip Oil. It’s hydrating for the cold days, it has a glossy look and feels nourishing – a must have! I’ve tried lots of other lip oils and nothing comes close to this one.

My Hunter wellies are a daily essential once autumn/winter kicks in and the dog walking gets muddy! I also love the cosy fleece liners for freezing mornings and I always wear Burts Bees tinted lip balm for really cold weather when lips get chapped. It has the added bonus of bringing a touch of much needed colour in a dull winter!

I love using Lenor cosy season scent boosters at this time of year and I’m always burning candles – I love ‘Fig Trees’ by Jo Loves. But nothing beats a cup of Yorkshire Tea before a Teams call or before doing some tough analysis. I also love their ‘Brew Notes’ behind the scenes section on their website that showcases sustainable initiatives and new ideas they are testing

I get excited to see the Ribena Winter Spice appear again – I drink it warm as an alternative to tea and coffee. It’s like mulled wine with no alcohol, I love it. I also carry a small size Vaseline tin with me – a must for the dry lips that the cold / wind bring on! The small tins are so convenient to fit in your coat pocket or any size handbag. Also a really nice rich hand cream that fits perfectly in my handbag. I was given this Cath Kidson hand cream as a gift and I’ve stuck with it ever since.
